Rhoda Melinda Walker Thompson, the daughter of Paul G. and Rhoda (Dedrick) Walker, was born March 13, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio. She passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, at her home in Maryville, Missouri, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 16 days.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vern in 2008; and brother Paul Walker Jr.
Rhoda is survived by her companion, Greg Hansen of Maryville, Missouri; children, Paul (Kristi) Thompson of Maryville, Missouri, Lisa (Shannon) Craig of Stanberry, Missouri, Richard (Melanie) Thompson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Thomas (Laura) Thompson of Amity, Missouri; grandchildren, Chelsey (Wes) Phipps of Jacksonville, Florida, Shaylynn, Cole and Lexi Craig of Stanberry, Missouri, Blake Thompson and Kate Lesmeister of Omaha, Nebraska, Madelyn and Brynlee Thompson of Amity, Missouri, and Ashlyn Alexander; many nieces, nephews, former students and friends. She will be missed by many.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Stanton. Burial was in Mamre Cemetery in Stanton. The Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli officiated. Visitation with the family present was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, 509 N. Sixth St. in Red Oak.
