Lois Lucille Adamson, daughter of John Martin Roe and Viola Eveline Curtis Roe, was born June 22, 1936, in Lucas County, and passed from this life Thursday, June 7, 2018, at her home in Osceola surrounded by her family at 81 years of age.
Lois received her early education in Lucas County, and after her family moved to Osceola during her freshman year, she attended Osceola High School and graduated in 1954. This was also the same year that she was named Miss Osceola.
She was united in marriage to Gerald (Shorty) Adamson on April 26, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Osceola, and their union was blessed with twins, Tony and Teri.
Over the years, Lois worked as a telephone operator for Snowdons in Osceola and later, a banker at Osceola State Bank and also an abstractor for the Buesch Agency in Osceola.
Lois was a member of the Osceola Country Club for many years and enjoyed golfing and socializing. Her love for animals was evident in the many pets that captured her heart. She also loved working in the yard, feeding the birds, working with her flowers (actually anything outdoors) and reading. Lois especially loved spending time with her family and took special pride in all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those relatives who preceded Lois in death were her parents and sisters, Alice Redman, Peggy Chew and Freda Gordon. She was also preceded by her brothers-in-law, Merle Gordon, Gary Chew, Jerry Redman, G.F. Hoffman and William Joseph “Bill” Adamson and sister-in-law Betty Hoffman.
Lois leaves to cherish her memory her husband Gerald (Shorty) Adamson of Osceola; son Tony (Jodi) Adamson of West Des Moines; daughter Teri Adamson of Osceola; grandchildren, Austin (Lauren) Adamson of Big Lake, Minnesota, Dakota (Nick) Thelen of Big Lake, Minnesota, Louie (Korbin) Grossman of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Luke (Ali) Grossman of Norwalk; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Isaac, Avery, Isla, Nash, Polly and Welles; sisters-in-law, Glaine Adamson of Osceola, Patty (Rod) Hansen of Blair, Nebraska, and Bea (Bob) Evans of Osceola; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life gathering for Lois will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola.
