March is over and we are into April which is supposed to represent the arrival of spring. So far, I haven’t seen that.
The department ordered a new squad car from our local Ford dealer. We assisted the county with a fatal accident just west of the Lacelle paving, transported a seizing baby to the hospital and executed a search warrant in Winterset for stolen property.
W participated in the State wide Tornado drill and I’m happy to say that all of our sirens functioned property. We will commence with our weekly testing of the sirens of Thursday, April 5, at 9 a.m. Officer Fitzpatrick travelled to Ringgold County to train them in the use of tasers. I assisted Clarke and Decatur Counties in the apprehension of three people from Ohio who were travelling Highway 2 committing burglaries in south west and south central Iowa. I also assisted Clarke County in the apprehension of a person who committed a gas drive-off in Eagleville. He drove through the county and ran from the Sheriff’s Office. Turns out the vehicle he was driving was also stolen from Eagleville.
