DeVore Wins Iowa FFA Alumni Scholarship
The Iowa FFA Alumni Conference took place at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny on January 20th. Two members of the Osceola Big Chief FFA Chapter were in attendance, Nathan Manternach and Devin DeVore. While in attendance they listened to keynote speakers and gained a better understanding of the Iowa FFA Alumni. Devin DeVore was one of two students in the State of Iowa to be granted a scholarship via the Alumni to attend the Washington Leadership Conference in June. Nathan Manternach, who was the winner in 2016, stated “The Alumni Conference was a great experience to meet the adults who work to help make this organization possible.” The members had a great time and hope to be able to expand the Alumni in Clarke County with the new information they learned.

Then they went back to the basics and judged a keep/cull class, a breeding class, and a market class. The team placed very well, scoring 15th out of 136 teams. Devin DeVore was 15th overall out of 475 students. The team was happy with their results and glad they were able to have this experience. They are excited to see what will happen next year.
